Avatar Month - Yue

Yue

She thought the fish would be cold, but it wasn’t.  “Oh, my,” was her last living thought.

She felt herself die.  It felt like flying.  Not that she knew what flying felt like – at least, not until he showed her.  

She allowed herself one final goodbye to him, and promised she would always be with him.  She gave him one last kiss, and was gone.

She felt exhilarated.  She felt herself flying higher and higher.  Finally, too soon, she stopped, and around her was a soft, brilliant glow.

Yue was the Moon.

She looked down at the world.  Everything looked so small from so high up.  She decided to focus on the Northern Water Tribe, which, up until a moment ago, had been her home.

The Ocean was angry.  He was destroying everything he touched, linked to the power of the Avatar.

“I am here,” she called to him.  No sound came out of her mouth, but she knew he’d heard her.

He looked up and saw her glowing high above him.  “You were gone,” he said back to her.

“Yes,” she replied, “and now I am back.”  He relaxed.  “Let the boy go,” she said.

“Of course.”

The Ocean let the Avatar go on an ice wall, and then returned to the koi pond.

And Yue began her eternal dance with the Ocean.
